Rescue Quest Gold is a Puzzle based, match 3, fantasy game where you're put in the shoes of Boom or Zap in their quest to save the kingdom from impending demise. This is a remastered version of Rescue Quest with improved graphics and new ending as well as no more free-to-play elements on it.
The game shows you off by letting you choose between Boom or Zap as your avatar which you can change at any time between then the story is set in motion. It'll give a quick tutorial on the game's mechanic. It's easy to get into and can be quite addicting like most puzzle, match-3 type of games. Although the tutorials can be quite forceful but it is easily skipped. What separates Rescue Quest Gold from the others is it's one time pay which relieves it of ads and limited lives as well as in game microtransactions. Also it's uniqueness comes from it's rather cute story and characters and it's art style.
Speaking of mechanics, if you wait a bit and have not made some moves it will give some subtle hints on what to match up. Albeit not the right ones but it'll give you an idea what to make next. All of the puzzles have a specific map type but it's gems are randomly generated so no use on trying to restart it and remembering it's position. The game gives a set of power runes and skills which help you if you're in a pickle. These runes are easily won after you complete each level so dont worry about running out anytime unless you completely use it all in one go. As I've mentioned the skills are there and can be used at any given time and with it's interesting cooldown of just matching up the colors corresponding to the skill.
