The Go lineup of Asus is for budget
buyers alike. But does it stack up to day- to-day performance and battery life?
Hey guys I’m Johan Villanueva back here with another review and today I’m going
to give my opinions on the Asus Zenfone Go 5 Lite from Asus!
Design, Build Quality
and features.
The Asus Zenfone Go 5
Lite has a Zenfone 2 Design with the volume rocker being at the back and the
power button on the top with the curvature pattern and it offers 4 popping
colors. Silver, Gold, Black and cyan which I have here the speakers are on the bottom
(back facing) above that is the Zenfone and ASUS logo and the volume rocker
which can also be used a camera shutter button for selfies. Speaking of the
camera, an 8MP Camera occupies the back with an f/2.0 aperture and flash while
on the front has a 2MP selfie camera. On the sides lives nothing, on the bottom
has the microUSB port and mic hole. It has a removable back where you can
access the removable battery rated at 2600 MaH, SD Card slot and DUAL SIM
Trays.
On the top lives the
power button which is hard to press due to the size of the Zenfone, you can use
double tap to sleep and wake too. On the front lies the small camera, proximity
sensor and the speakerphone. A 5inch 480p FWVGA
screen accompanies the front. It’s sort of a pro or con at the same
time. One of the pro is that the battery life will be a bit more longer rather
than a 720p screen. The con is that you can distinguish every little pixel on
the 5-inch screen. But for only 3999 PHP what more can you ask for? I
appreciate their decision making it a 480p screen, for affordability reasons
and battery reasons! Smart move ASUS. And the bottom of the screen has the
capacitive buttons. With that ASUS Chin as I call it.

Inside
it’s packing a Snapdragon 200 which can manage to handle my extreme test like
multiple apps with a GIGABYTE of RAM and no overheating occurred during my
review period. An Adreno 302 GPU is equipped with this and it can handle some
games on med to high settings, on high demanding games you need to bump down
the graphics quality a little bit.
The
OS is Android Lollipop 5.1 with Asus ZenUI 2.0 in it! It’s snappy with added
features like holding the recent button to screenshot, memory management and
more. But the vast amount of bloatware bugs me a lot since the phone only has
8gb of internal storage. Still you can a microSD card up to 128GB but only some
apps can be moved to the card. I wish ASUS would lessen down the bloat in their
devices.
Camera
Quality is Average only suffering on low light conditions and it appears to
have more of a warm tone both on the front and rear camera. But nonetheless it’s
decent enough for a good snap.Speakers are great with balance mids, highs and
lows, and Battery Life is stellar. It is rated at 2600 MaH and it can easily
last a day and more if you use the power saving modes provided by ASUS. On
medium usage, it can last day but you can stretch that up to 2 Days if you use
it rarely and do not game.
In
Conclusion is the ASUS Zenfone Go 5 Lite great? Well we might say it’s a great
buy for the price of 3999Php. ASUS offers you a decent camera, great battery
life and a nice design under that 4000Php margin! Who is this aimed for? The
price and specs are for students who needs to write notes, occasionally take
pictures, who needs a phone can last a day at school and needs a big screen!
